Liposonix is a relatively new technology in the field of fat and cellulite reduction. By using focused ultrasonic waves of energy, Liposonix produces results comparable to traditional liposuction, but unlike liposuction, Liposonix is non-invasive. It requires no incisions, stitches, lengthy recovery times, or hefty surgeon bills.
Liposonix uses state of the art technology to focus high-intensity ultrasonic energy into concentrated waves that can safely pass through the outer layers of skin tissue, penetrating the subcutaneous fat cells that lie beneath the skin’s surface. The ultrasonic energy heats up the fat cells, to the point of destruction.
Once the fat cells are destroyed, the body’s natural healing process will take over. Over a period of several weeks, the body’s lymphatic system will gradually remove the destroyed fat cells from the treatment area. These collected fat cells will then be expelled from the body as waste.
Once you know how Liposonix works, the next question that most people want to be answered is “Does Liposonix work?” The answer is an emphatic yes! Results are consistent and undeniable. Liposonix reviews are predominately positive. The average patient will lose an inch of fatty tissue, from a single Liposonix treatment. These results have been substantiated and replicated in numerous, independent scientific studies.
One such study published in the Journal of Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, titled “High-intensity focused ultrasound effectively reduces adipose tissue” validated the efficiency of Liposonix stating that “The average circumference reduction after-treatment of the abdomen and waist is 4-5 cm. Liposonix turns out to be a safe and effective technique for nonsurgical body sculpting by reduction of fat deposits”
A: Typically a Liposonix treatment of the abdomen and flanks is completed in about one hour. This may vary depending on the treatment area and your specific needs. Patients arrive one hour prior to their treatment to receive pre-medication, complete consent forms and undergo pre-treatment photographs and measurements.
A: Fat is permanently destroyed in a single treatment. Several patients have undergone a second treatment 3 months after the original treatment to achieve further fat reduction.
A: This is unlikely. The Liposonix treatment does not produce saggy skin that may result from surgical liposuction procedures. Liposonix should not be performed on people with severe skin laxity and for patients with mild skin laxity, it can be combined with skin tightening procedures such as Thermage.
A: Unlike many liposuction procedures, the Liposonix treatment produces smooth results due to its unique, scanning delivery technology. We have not seen cases of uneven or lumpy results either in our clinical experience with the device or in the literature.
